Top Five Fashion Icons
by Kate.
In high fashion, there
are those who set the pace and catch the attention of the world. Their unique
style and ability to look fabulous in every occasion set them apart in the
world of fashion. The following are the Top Five Fashion Icons.
Michelle Obama
The first lady has become famous in her own rite by dazzling the world with her amazing sense of style and fashion flair. She often chooses clothes with clean lines and classic prints. Sporting waisted belts, bare arms, and beautiful Tracey Reese dresses, Michelle Obama has a knack for knowing how to dress for every occasion.
Lady Gaga
Known as a controversial fashion icon, Gaga is never afraid to step out of the ordinary and take chances. Although most of her fashion choices are not the type of outfits the average woman would wear, she's always presenting us with new color combinations and gorgeous accessories we can emulate.
Kate Moss
After appearing topless in a Calvin Klein ad, Moss was well on her way to becoming the next top model. For years she dominated the covers of the most popular fashion magazines, and ushered in the popularity of the waif-thin figure. She popularized skinny jeans, denim cutoffs, and leopard prints. Not only is Kate famous for wearing great fashion, but she has embarked on her own creative adventures. In 2011 she began working with French label Fred to design a line of jewelry.
Jackie Kennedy Onassis
The former first lady had a style similar to Audrey Hepburn, but more refined. She had a classical style that redefined simple elegance. Her clothes represented a unique combination of femininity and power. Some of her favorite designers included Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, and Hubert de Givenchy. She made famous the pillbox hat and pastel suits. As she changed and grew, her fashion sense did as well. In later years she became known for wearing wide leg pants and over-sized sunglasses.
Princess Diana
Perhaps no one has influenced fashion in modern times as much as Princess Diana. She set fashion trends all over the world for nearly twenty years. Although she become known for her glamorous and glitzy dresses, she also understood the art of understatement. Diana looked fabulous in monochromatic outfits and nude shoes. She was often photographed in her favorite color, red. Catherine Walker and Gianni Versace were two of Diana's favorite designers.
Princess Diana was also known for the elegant jewelry she wore, and was often seen in pearls. She wore multi-strand chokers as well as simple single strand necklaces. Diana was photographed wearing a stunning set of pearls to Her Majestys Theatre in 1993.
